ππ½ A day for transitions ...
After ten years of UnfairNation, its time for something new
I started this newsletter exactly ten years ago to stay connected with friends. During 2020's upheavals and while launching The Difference Engine - it became a platform for my thoughts on civil rights and social good.
After a long hiatus, itβs time for another transformation.
Today is MLK day in the U.S., a day when we honor the legacy of a man who transformed our country, making it possible for people like me to not just dream but accomplish our greatest aspirations. However, this same day also sees the rise of the very people MLK fiercely opposed.
Some people are elated, others deflated.
But I am energized - because the next four years are going to present an opportunity to build a movement of brilliant, strong and courageous advocates and changemakers. A movement that speaks truth to power, inspires people to build crazy new things, and fights for those with less rather than protect those with everything.
Building movements around practical solutions to inequality has always been my guiding star and this newsletter will now follow this principle.
For our 18,000 subscribers, this newsletter will shift from commentary to action. Instead of long-form content, expect shorter updates where Iβll share job openings at places where you can make a difference, fellowships and board roles, funding and investment opportunities for social good startups and non-profits, and connections to mentors and advisors - all from my network.
Less philosophy, more resources for those working to create change.
I look forward to building this community with you - people ready to push back, break old rules, and build something new.
I hope youβll join me.

Very sad, unsure, and most importantly defeated on Dr. Martin Luther king day this year. I was so sad at what has transpired. To be perfectly clear, I have been feeling this way ever since the election. Hoping that I would wake up and it was some sort of distorted dream. Seeing the horror and dismay thatβs happening right in front of us. My children are scared of what might happen to their father. I pray and I educate myself on steps I may need to take. Never imagined a far worse United States but itβs here. I hold promise of a better future in my sights, but it will be a long time for that!
Looking forward to action items. Great time for a transition.
