I started this newsletter in 2015 for just a few close friends. In that first year, I only had 16 subscribers.
As time passed, friends and colleagues kept signing up and I rebranded in 2019 upon hitting 3,000 subscribers. My personal little newsletter had grown to become UnfairNation, a semi-provocative title meant to point out the real issue with inequality: not that it exists, which is normal, but that it is structural โฆ a rigged game, one you canโt win no matter how hard you follow the rules โฆ an unfair game.
Today weโre almost 9500 strong: a small, growing community of people who care about the world and take action to make it a fairer and more just place. I write UnfairNation to encourage us to think differently about inequality - not focused on whatโs going wrong, but instead as encouragement to take action in a way that leaves you feeling just a bit better about the future.
So this holiday season, all I ask is that you help UnfairNation get to 10,000 subscribers :)
The easiest way to do this is to forward editions you like to people who may find them interesting or useful.

Thank you for reading what I write, for commenting on it, for sharing it, and perhaps most importantly โฆ for acting on it.
Happy holidays and see you next year.

Enjoy this finely crafted extended cut of the original The Late Show intro with music by the great Jon Batiste. A nice riff to end the year while looking forward to the new one.
